Associates where she specializes in cases such as family law, probate,
landlord/tenant disputes, real estate and corporate law. Howland is
also of counsel for The Children's Law Group, a firm that specializes
in child advocacy. In addition to her legal employment, Howland

County. Howland previously worked as a Judicial Law Clerk for the

A Candidate Who Understands All Kids Need Opportunities
Amanda Howland was a co-principal in District U-46 in a school with
1,400 students and a staff of more than 50. Prior to earning her
Administrative Degree, Howland worked for Special Education District
of Lake County teaching emotionally disturbed and behavior disordered
children. She is someone who understands that a solid education is
essential to the growth and development of our young people. As State
Representative of Illinois 51st District, Amanda will fight hard on
behalf of our kids and work to get the support our schools need. She
has worked closely with A+ Illinois and other groups exploring how
to best meet the needs of our schools. In her past race she was
strongly supported by the IEA and A+ Illinois.
Understands Local & National Politics
Since 2004 Amanda Howland has been active in both local and national
campaigns. In 2004, she traveled to battleground states to discuss
issues and candidate differences with voters. She also served in Ohio
as an attorney on voter protection issues. In 2006 she ran for office
in a very competitive race. In 2007, she worked for a national
candidate in addition to working on her current race. In talking with
concerned residents of the district, along with Representatives from
surrounding districts Howland has found that her issues and concerns
are right in line with those of the 51st District. Quality of
education, including school funding and after-school programs are on
the top of Amanda's list. Health care and insurance reform are needed
including working toward getting affordable health care for all of
Illinois residents regardless of age. Safe roads, reducing congestion
and issues related to sensible transportation and responsible growth
in Lake County also top her list.
